Blessings, everyone!

My name is Seyi, and I have the privilege of serving in Bridgeway’s Prayer Ministry alongside a beautiful group of people who share a passion for the heart of God and a deep love for the diverse patchwork of individuals in our community. It has been incredible to witness all the wonderful things the Lord has revealed, taught, and accomplished among us as we strive for consistency in our rhythms of prayer.

Since the start of the new year, we’ve been committed to standing for God’s heart concerning families and households in Bridgeway. Each day, we lift them up in prayer, and today, the Spirit has directed our focus to single-parent households, single mothers with children, and single fathers with children.

During prayer, we were humbled by the realization of how easy it can be, without any direct effort, to overlook the struggles of those who appear well put together, the tears of those who praise through separation, the isolation of encouragers, or the quiet suffering of the bold. The Lord reminds us through His Word:

“While we have the opportunity, let us do good to all people, not only by being helpful, but by promoting their spiritual well-being, and especially being a blessing to those of the household of faith” (Galatians 6:10).

Today, while we prayed, the Lord showed a powerful image: hands of all sizes and colors stretched out in prayer. Together, they touched a fragile, cracking shell. Through their love, faith, and hearts full of empathy, the cracks began to seal, healing took root, and suffering was eased. These hands, the patchwork of our community, held up those who might have fallen, reminding us of the beauty and strength found in unity and compassion.

As we reflect on this, let us continue to stretch our hands in love and faith, supporting those around us. May our prayers and tangible acts of kindness lift their burdens and inspire us to hope. Together, as a community united in God’s love, we can be the hands that bring healing and hope to those who need it most.
